So, the weather today is low 80’s, low humidity, not a cloud in the sky. I think it begs the questions, “why aren’t you golfing today?”. I mean think about it, Meadowbrook is in great shape, the greens are sweet and there are open tee times available; so what’s keeping you from playing. OK, I hear you, hey Bill I gotta work! I get it, but I have a solution. We have trained golf professionals at Meadowbrook who are ready to write you an excuse note to give to your boss. You can go in and say, “Hey boss, my Swing Doctor told me I need to take 2 pars and call him in the morning; so I need to take this afternoon off. And depending what he says in the morning….this may be serious and I may need to take tomorrow off also.” Simple! (If it works let me know, because this would be the first time!)
On another note, there have been a lot of questions about Meadowbrook and the TORNADO! Meadowbrook’s golf course was hit by the Memorial Day tornadoes. Yes, it did impact play for about a month while we cleaned up the mess (more on that in a moment). Before you ask, we did have over 100 trees hit by the storm, but the good news is…we have plenty of trees left on the course. (To some that may be bad news.) We opened all 18 on June 29 and have been going strong ever since.
Back to the clean up….Our superintendent Mark Goodwin and his staff did a fantastic job cleaning up the mess that the tornado left behind. They spent long hours and many days working on the golf course to get it back to the great shape that it is in today. I would also like to thank each and every volunteer who came out and helped us with the clean up… thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you… OK you get the point. We could not have done it without the volunteers. A special thanks also to the Northmont High school golf teams who helped us so much.
So, there you have it, the everything Meadowbrook update. It’s a beautiful day, the golf course is in great shape and we are waiting for you. Oh, and if you need that note for your boss, or wife (usually the same thing), or your husband, just let us know, we’ll put something together. Hey gotta go, the phones ringing, maybe it’s you!
